Good news for Danish companies going to Germany!

The result of the recently held German federal elections is good news for Danish companies Angela Merkel’s CDU party encountered a major setback during the recent federal elections. However, with the German Chancellor remaining in the lead is good news for the Danish exports according to experts.

“Danish companies get an extra boost in Germany with Angela Merkel in charge of the next government”, assesses Jørgen Lund Lavesen, director of insurance company Atraditus Denmark. He believes that the positive German development will benefit Danish exporters.

Thomas Bustrup, Director at the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) agrees that Danish exports are strengthened with Merkel at the forefront: “With Merkel as Chancellor, it creates a foundation for strengthened Danish exports.”

One thing is the positive forecasts regarding Danish exports to Germany. However, we must keep in mind that many Danish companies focus on Schleswig-Holstein, thereby losing the enormous potential that is found in the southern regions of Germany.

Jørgen Lund Lavesen believes that Danish companies should focus more on German medium-sized enterprises in other regions than just the closest ones. In particular, the potential is high in Southern Germany.
